Alternative and indie in Estonia

Estonia's rock music started evolving in the 1960s-1970s. Then, it was a sign of better times and rock bands played an important part in the Singing Revolution. The alternative music scene in Estonida today is still rebellious and free, experimenting with blend of etno, electronica or pop.

This upbeat rock band (Robert Linna, Markko Reinberg, Rain Joona, Jon Mikiver) has won several Rock Album of the Year awards in Estonia and performed in many festivals over Europe.

Anna Kaneelina

Anna Kaneelina's (Anna Põldoja, born 1984) debut album by the same name was a great success in Estonia. This singer-songwriter mixes pop with electronica, channeling raw and energetic power. She describes her work as 'a voice from the wilderness singing of love, experience and change.'

Vaiko Eplik

Vaiko Eplik (born 1981) is a singer, composer and multi-instrumentalist, most known for his works in the domains of pop-rock as well as experimental rock. He has collaborated with many artists and bands, truly expanding the cross-over genre.

Dagö

Dagö (Lauri Saatpalu, Peeter Rebane, Henno Kelp, Kristjan Priks, Tarvi Kull) has been loved by Estonians since it's formation in 1998. The band's frontmen Lauri Saatpalu and Peeter Rebane love to use intricate lyrics that blend with the band's friendly folk-rock approach.
